Indications: Tabacum is a chief remedy for the treatment of sea-sickness. There is nausea with terrible, faint, sinking feeling at pit of stomach. Sea-sickness is worse by least motion and relieved on deck in fresh cold air. There is a sensation of hanging or relaxation of stomach with incessant nausea and vomiting. Tabacum also helps in gastro-intestinal disorders caused due to tobacco or problems due to going at sea. Patient wants abdomen uncovered which relieves nausea and vomiting. Tabacum also helps in diarrhoea which is sudden with nausea, vomiting, prostration, cold sweat and extreme fainting from smell of tobacco. Stool is yellowish, slimy, watery sometimes looks like sour milk.

Tabacum also has marked action on headache which is periodical sick headache beginning in the morning, increases during day and lasts until evening. Pain as if struck by a hammer. There is a sensation of a tight band around head. Pain is worse by noise, light or motion. Pain better in open fresh air. Tabacum is also indicated in vertigo on opening the eyes. Vertigo on rising or looking upward and is relieved in open fresh air and by vomiting. Vertigo increases loss of consciousness with death like pallor.
